Is the satisfaction you get from helping others selfish?

answering questions for example, makes u feel good, so you answer some more, you think its selfish?

Is the satisfaction you get from helping others selfish?
there is no such thing as a selfless good deed
Reply:No, I don't think so.

If you want to put it in such a sense, it's a small reward to yourself for having done something for another person.

Take it this way, both sides benefit, you get the warm, fuzzy feeling inside, they get the help they need!

Maybe it's Nature's way of not letting yourself feel left out, or to not make it completely unbenefitial from your side to help others.

Reply:How can that be called 'selfish'? As long as you think you have answered well, you should deserve a thumbs-up praise for yourself.Be optimistic about things.
Reply:Not at all, because you ARE helping someone else, it's like my job, a nurse, it's very rewarding.
Reply:Helping others is the most unselfish form of personal gratification there is. Selfish is the person who refuses to share what he/she knows just to feel superior
Reply:I don't think so. I do alot of things for others becasue I have been blessed in my life. I help others as a reminder that there were times in my life that I too need help and someone was there for me.

When I do something and someone asks "How can they repay me" I tell them all I want in return is that someday when they see another in need they help them.

Ever see the Movie "Pay It Forward?" with Kevin Spacey.

It's the perfect example.
