Unhappy with current job; Need to figure what should I do to which will give job satisfaction?

Based on a lenghthy discusson with a collegue last friday, where she is deciding to leave her current job and perhaps do nothing for few months to figure what exactly she wants do in her life. She is 28 yrs, single so perhaps can take the risk of not having a job.


My point is, why cant she figure out what she wants to do while working. I just feel that she is taking a drastic action. Of course, she has numerous example where people have done it and ended up making a right choice and every thing ended well.

If they are single, no kids, and have money saved up or parents who seem to throw money at them, they'll do it. The generation coming up seems to not work like alot of people. They seem to want to enjoy life more. It'll be interesting to see how our country is doing 20 years from now when they are all supporting us...scary thought. "Let's just take a break, don't like how it's going...." Yikes.
