What 'mark' would you like to leave in this world that would give you peace and spiritual satisfaction?

And are you working on it now?

If not, when do you plan to get started?

{perhaps it's artistic in nature, volunteering, ect}

....... maybe there's a list in your mind for different areas in your life?

What 'mark' would you like to leave in this world that would give you peace and spiritual satisfaction?
I would hope that some of my deeds that were of help to others would be remembered.

But, what I really do now is decorate walking canes. SO many people hate those drug store canes. I personalize them and add themes, if the person desires.

The spiritual part of this comes when a cane I've worked for hours or days is sent off to the customer. It's my functional art that makes people happy.

When I get an email or call from a customer raving about the cane I designed, I feel like I've really made a significance in their lives.

That makes me feel great. I know for sure that my efforts have helped others.

Reply:Leaving a mark to give peace and spiritual satisfaction? That sounds contradicting...

Peace is the essence of non disturbance, so making any mark would seem to break the surrealistic experience. I suppose an emotional agitation could contrast the idea of peace, making it more apparent. A disparity would be the slow motion of an action sequence. Although I am not sure if it would make any sense or be appropriate in this context.

There is also something curious about spiritual satisfaction. Would material thing and event of this world bare any meaning for the spirit self causing satisfaction?

If so, how?

If not, then why would spiritual satisfaction require marking?

In other words, I would not leave any mark for the reason of giving myself peace and spiritual satisfaction. In fact, I would remove all marks to give peace and spiritual satisfaction for myself -- knowing that there is nothing unaccounted for that is left behind.
Reply:It's a work in progress! I have worked for the Lord for the last 25 years, at least. It completely consumes my everyday life. I hope, through this work I can show others the ultimate 'power of His love. That my example can benefit the greater good in these troubled times. I enjoy my work tremendously; working behind the scenes and showing His Light unto the world. I give my all. It is the very least I can do for all He has given me. I am truly blessed! This, for me, is more than satisfaction, it is serenity.
Reply:To make people stop and think, if only for a moment. I work on it everyday in every chance I get as well as with my blogs. I would be happiest if years from now something I had said or done made someone stop in their tracks and think about the world and thier place in it, even if I never found out about it.

Hope this helps.

Martha Beck has done this, in her "Expecting Adam."
Reply:Just be happy, and do your best to make others happy, because at the end of the day it doesn't matter!!!, but lasting happiness!!!
