Men with feminist partners reported both more stable relationships and greater sexual satisfaction?

Research conducted by Laurie A. Rudman, a psychologist at Rutgers University, also seems to point to a hot soapy love connection. Her study, recently published in the journal Sex Roles, looked at feminism’s impact on romantic relationships. Among other things, she found that men with feminist partners reported both more stable relationships and greater sexual satisfaction.

What other positive things has feminism brought to society?

Men with feminist partners reported both more stable relationships and greater sexual satisfaction?
Gee....Laela, not to single you out but....you didn't even answer the question.

Where did it say that the men here are being "lorded" over, when it's the men that are "stepping up to the plate".

Did most of who responded negatively even bother to read the article?

Anyway...to ANSWER the question, I believe that because feminism has given women more options to either choose to stay at home AND to work, men aren't completely obligated to go out there just be sole breadwinners.

Women who believe in a fair balance (feminists) isn't going to assume that because she's a woman in the relationship, that a man is automatically going to take up the role of financial provider simply because gender roles of old had dictated it. She'd also contribute financially especially if the dude she's with isn't a Heart Surgeon or a Wall Street trader.

It's the flip side for a man who just assumes that traditional roles still apply and when he comes home before his wife/girlfriend does and there are dishes still in the sink, he's just going to assume that since she's a woman and that's HER thing to do: cook, clean, help the kids with the homework, check to see if there is food in the fridge, etc….while he goes off and does his own thing that he identifies as being "masculine" in his duties.

If there are dirty dishes to be done and wifey isn't around to do it, he just DOES it because it needs to be done, and isn't about to get into p*ssing match about the fact that since he got the "cajones" around here that he shouldn't EVER be stuck doing the dishes, PERIOD.

It's all about the woman making the man's like easier and less burdensome and the man making a woman's life easier and less burdensome, where we aren't always assessing things from a gender role standpoint.

It's all about balance...
Reply:that's a funny joke.
Reply:Google the backgrounds of the two Researchers. They are both Gender Feminists and Radical Feminists at that. This is Advocacy Research, not peer reviewed and nothing more than phony propaganda. Wishful thinking in fact. Here is another view. Women in the US are getting desperate as more and more Men join the Ghost Nation. And withdraw from our culture. Men are withdrawing from Education, Churches, Marriage, Family, TV, the media. As it has no place for us. So rather than aiding in our own enslavement we are walking away.

Feminists realize that the huge increases in marriages to Foreign Women and the Marriage Strike, will further erode their influence on Men and Women. So they are trying to convince Women that Feminism will mean a happy life. Sorry the empirical evidence loud screams the opposite.

The media should be ashamed for not doing their homework. You can find this out online in less than 20 minutes.
Reply:That makes sense. When two people see each other as equals, they are more likely to be happy.

Feminists have also freed men from having to live up to old fashioned male sexism - like that men have to be tough all the time and be the breadwinner and super successful. I mean, men still face that kind of pressure, but it's a lot less now that feminists (both male and female feminists) have questioned it.
Reply:Is it safe to assume that Dr Laurie A. Rudman is a feminist also?

I'm not sure how I can have good sex with someone who doesn't make a clear distinction between genders and roles. I expect him to be a man with all the definitions it brings. I guess I'm doomed to have bad sex for the rest of my life.
Reply:Lets be honest, most men know who the beta males are. Beta males are more likely to marry alpha females. These results don't surprise me. My sisters who are alpha types married the biggest wimps. I'm ashamed of my brother-in-laws. I don't think they have one testicle between the both of them.
Reply:feminists only like subservient feminine men who say and do whatever they're told. or else. stable? what a miserable life those poor saps must lead.
Reply:This information is too old to be 'news': the article published in Sex Roles is one of many.

What has feminism brought to society? Educated, confident, multifaceted women who can contribute in countless ways.
Reply:Opinions are like butts..everyone got one
Reply:Burning of bras =]

In some cases, good. Other cases, very very bad! lol =]
Reply:Yeah like hell! I love the occasional butt squeeze when I'm doing my dishes. They're looking for men they can lord over.

What man in his right mind wants to be lorded over? None that I know of.
