How do regural consultations between managers and their subordinates impact productivity and job satisfaction?

it should be both ways

reporting and consultation gives;

1) recognition of each wing

2) create understanding

3) create involvement

4) create a bondage between two layers

5) erase ego

6) create pride and make a person to believe that he is indispensable in the team - that create more involvement (like mother and child) in the process - which take the person to the top

naturally it becomes stronger - then this mechanism result more productivity and then job satisfaction - (job satisfaction comes out of pride - and the consultation satisfy this ego - then the team will be a successful team.

How do regural consultations between managers and their subordinates impact productivity and job satisfaction?
It results in Clear, Consise and Unmistakable requirements, goals and deadlines. Makes everybody happy.

Why do i get such satisfaction whenever i give him blue balls?

i just get a kick out of it everytime... lol

Why do i get such satisfaction whenever i give him blue balls?
Probably it gives you a sense of power. It is a great tease. But be careful, some guys will get tired of it. Others though might like it, they can handle the issue after you leave.
Reply:u are enjoying teasing him and giving him all that sexual tension sooooo bad till his balls are just aching and throbbing for you. i bet that is fun. good for you! he he.....personally i love the feeling of being turned on for hours till my balls ache, swell, and throb......it is so wonderful! lol (but i don't think all guys feel that way! he he)
Reply:maybe its an underlying form of revenge for something he didn't do for you or something he did. And you don't know because it's unconscious

I don't think your the only one, sometimes i like to so that it leaves him wanting it even more...
Reply:Lots of people enjoy B%26amp;D, and other fetishes. It's completely normal and healthy (and fun!). If he enjoys getting blue balls, more power to you (literally, lol).

Are you really getting satisfaction on 3 to 10 minits work ?

someone will get out of the work within a minit, and some one will try further more time and getout. i pull water from the well within a minit and for the second bucket, i will get tiredness..i and my friend one day done a running race..my friend got tired within a minit, may be age problem. what do you say ? i know you are confused..don't get confusion.. you can answer on any matter.

Are you really getting satisfaction on 3 to 10 minits work ?
It took a while to figure out how to get satisfaction, cause I always spill it all just at the thrill of lowering the bucket, but I eventually found I could just keep on lowering the bucket for about 10 minutes and get lots of water. The trick is, don't stop. Now that I'm so old, I not sure I could do that anymore, but I'd sure try hard if I got the chance. I do get tired, but it's worth it.
Reply:this should be a health question, but anyway yes it could be age,or she isn't healthy.
Reply:WTF? You need help.
Reply:Quite right, that's telling 'em!!

What is the real satisfaction in life?

being a human being what makes u sastisfied in general and is it possible for a mAN to be satified or contented??

What is the real satisfaction in life?
Love. Loving yourself first then others. When you love yourself then you live authentically %26amp; make the most of your life. I'm following my dreams %26amp; yes I'm satisfied but it's taken me a long time to get to this point %26amp; make these realizations. If you don't love yourself, you will never find satisfied %26amp; nothing will ever fill the void.

Reply:Satisfaction in this world is really living. Like noticing the sun on your back when you're walking downtown. Or running across a soccer field in the spring just because the grass is so pretty and the air is so nice. Sitting in a meadow and squealing about the pretty flowers. I'm most satisfied when I'm just lying on the grass with my friends talking about anything and everything. Partying is fun, but not as satisfying as that. :)
Reply:Contentment. "He is the richest who is content with the least; for content is the wealth of nature" - declares Socrates, the celebrated Greek Philosopher.
Reply:i have satisfaction in knowing that i will die and never have to live on this disgusting horrible place we call earth. satisfaction is always temporary shortlasted and always dies. there is no such thing as true satisfation.
Reply:It is the real satisfaction when you do every work properly, think properly, take decisions and easily make understand to everybody. After that you feel a long-life satisfaction but your way should be truthful.
Reply:mmm..watching wentworth miller having his tatoos put on! sexy!
Reply:Being alive.
Reply:The answer depends on how u define satisfaction. You have to decide what u want out of life (i.e. when u die, what do u want to have done with your life). I find a lot of satisfaction in helping others. It's not a thing i can often do because of my circumstances, but it really feels good when u do. Once you know what u want out of life, persue it and NEVER give up until u get what you want. Don't step on people on the way, but overall it depends on what makes u happy. No one can answer that for u except u.

Based on every conceivable variable, which cell phone service provider should afford the most satisfaction?

I'm thinking of switching to a new service provider as I'm unhappy with my own. I'm looking for suggestions to whom I should switch.

Based on every conceivable variable, which cell phone service provider should afford the most satisfaction?
If you have a family T-mobile has he best plans but not great service. Cingular has rollover but its kind of expensive. Verizon is kind of expensive too but you can call other verizon members free

Why would an award winning ( for customer satisfaction ) company be cavalier when it comes to -?

Your customer satisfaction ? I really think these "award" wins are controlled and /or bought , when you must put forth tremendous effort to get satisfaction for a bad product .Why would a successful company make customers go through a dozen no-help "peons" before they come up with somebody with a wit of intelligence to solve your problem ?

Why would an award winning ( for customer satisfaction ) company be cavalier when it comes to -?
Most companies look at customer support as an expense. They try to keep all expenses at a minimum. This would include customer support. They don't seem to understand that poor customer support can cost them customers (in other words, profits) in the future. It puzzles me, too.

What is job satisfaction? why is it important?

what is job satisfaction? why is it important?

What is job satisfaction? why is it important?
Job satisfaction is the pleasurable or positive emotional state resulting from the appraisal of one's job or job experiences. so in a sense it is the characteristics of the job which one finds rewarding, fulfilling, and satisfying.

The importance of job satisfaction lies not in its relationship with performance but with its stabilizing effects and through its effects on increasing organizational citizenship behaviors and organizational commitment.
Reply:Different people have different defination in job satisfaction. For me, job satisfaction is the sense of achievement that I can gain by completion of a job. Without job satisfaction, we will never try our best or put in effort to achieve the target that we are looking forward. We will just complete the job and consider it as a job done.
Reply:Job satisfaction is being pleased with how you are handling your job. It is important as it gives you impetus to work well, and feel good about both your work and yourself.

Does alcohol give you good satisfaction on bed?

When I drink and have sex with my girl friend I normally get late....at least I can stand for about 45 minutes til i get the first ejaculation. On non-drinking days, sadly I lose the juice in just 15 minutes...so there goes....and proves that drinking is a good component for sex....Is this true?

Does alcohol give you good satisfaction on bed?
The occasional drink will extend your coming too soon problem, but excessive drinking does cause erection problems, and even if you don't think so when you're 20, by the time you've drunk your way to 40, when the women need you most, you'll probably need more than Viagra to keep her home!

But to give good satisfaction in bed to the opposite sex, in less than an hour, by the time you've finished with the great foreplay, you'd have sobered up!
Reply:No you forget it in the morning.
Reply:depends on how drink cuz if u drink to much u can't plz

Career Satisfaction or more time with family?

I'm so bored with my job. I'm not happy with it. I'm working in the middle east and being an expat myself, its a great priviledge to work here and at the same time be close to the whole family. My salary compared to some is a lot more plentiful, considering the not so many tasks that I have at hand. (See I even have time to go through Yahoo Answers) If only my family is not here, whom I'm suppoting, I would never doubt of changing a job. A job that I would really love and at the same time enjoy. But doing this would mean I will have lesser time with my kids. If I don't do it then my futire career will suffer becuase this is really not the job I want to excel in. What do you think should I do? I am battling between my professional satisfaction and family ties. Thanks for helping.

Career Satisfaction or more time with family?
I think that your first priority should be the health and welfare of your family.

If you can provide that while pursuing other, more satisfying job opportunities, go for it.
Reply:family ties are so important because when and if some thing happens and you can know longer work , your family will steel be there,, but a job is important to cause when the children are grown and on there own, finding something to feel that space is very hard , so really think it over first make sure you can live with your choose
Reply:Hard question. My sympathies.10 years ago, I quit a job after 13 years to spend more time with my family. Times where tight, but it made the family tighter. Material gain is nice. Being able to provide all of life's extra amenities is great. But kids grow up, and all too soon are gone out on their own. Will they have the wisdom of their parents to take with them? Or will cash have to do? Good luck, hope it helps.
Reply:Both things should be considered as they have their own importance

Managers should do every thing they can to enhance the job satisfaction of their employees. Do you agree or d

Managers must keep the interests of the company in mind FIRST. That being said, keeping employees happy is a HUGE part of the company's health. So they go hand in hand.

Doing "everything" they can needs to stay within the policy of the company handbook (seriously) and also build up their staff. Most of all - equal treatment to each employee. I have gotten in more bad situations because of real or percieved favoritism among my staff. Getting creative when showing that you are listening to them, care about their career goals etc is a talent - but, it also is learned thru trial and error. Employees need to earn respect but managers must provide an atmosphere where they want to.

Managers should do every thing they can to enhance the job satisfaction of their employees. Do you agree or d

Hard to argue with 10,000 years of history, so my answer is "no".

Managers should do every thing they can to enhance the job satisfaction of their employees. Do you agree or d
Agreed. Satisfied employees are more productive and make a manager's job easier and it reflects well on the manager.
Reply:it all depends on who you are asking. If you are asking the employee, they will more than likely say yes.

Me on the other hand am part of the management and I have found that I have to draw the line when quality, production, customer service, and the company become jeopardized.

So with that said I would have to say "NO". I would not place my employees satisfaction over and what is best for the company. If you did you would be catering to your employees and not you customers.

Although this I'm sure is not a popular opinion, look at how unions have hurt companies and there preformance. If you were to do everything you could do, bending over backward, to make your employees happy, you would be giving them just what they needed to bankrupt the company.
Reply:Agree. The cost of recruiting and training new employees is one of the biggest sources of waste in the modern economy. It is far more efficient and effective to create a positive work environment and happy employees than to deal with the cost of turnover.
Reply:Agree. A happy workforce is a productive one. Not only will morale be up but productivitity also.
Reply:Managers should do whatever they can, within reason, to increase the productivity of their employees, and insure that they don't quit. Keeping employees happy is one important aspect.
Reply:Agreed, within policy and law. A manager's job is to ensure that all employees have the necessary tools to perform their job adequately. Training, supplies, environment, etc..

There's a difference between being a manager and being a figurehead. A manager has to command respect thus be able to lead. They must make decisions that further the companies business and part of it is keeping good employees in and bad employees out. If good employees are satisfied the turnover will be low and the company will run efficiently and in the black.

A company with a low turnover keeps experience working for them. The longer a good employee stays, the more experience that company has to draw off of.
Reply:agree. anything within the grounds of ethical business ideas/solutions.

Anyone else had their debit card details used fraudulently? And was it sorted out to your satisfaction?

I would be doing spyware scans and antivirus scans as well just incase!!
Reply:My debit card was nailed, too. I'm still not sure how, seeing as I don't even use it for on line shopping. I was not happy at all with what I had to go through after wards...police reports, bank statements to sign and when yahoo (yep, that's who charged my card with a nifty $2500 fee for business start up) stated that they had an idea who the person was (in California-I'm in Michigan) they refused to release a name because she had rights. Rights? They were stealing from me! Thieves have no rights! I agree with wishing pain and suffering.

Reply:By nature I am a giver. I give my heart, my soul and my energy into everything I have a passion for. It gives me a great sense of satisifaction knowing that I can provide happiness for someone just by "giving" myself. To me it is one of the most simple ways to show you care!

On the other hand, I do enjoy receiving. Not so much material presents, for they are just a 'token' of someone's appreciation. I am talking about receiving someone's love, understanding, compassion, 'words of wisdom', trust, friendship, 'ear to lend'...etc, etc, etc. When I am the receiver of these "gifts", well I just feel over the moon! It makes me satisfied just to know that others truly do care.
Reply:To be quite honest I think the satisfaction is equal, I love recieving gifts (Who doesn't) It is good to know that someone is showing their appreciation of you. Mind you recieving is not just gifts, it could be love, thanks or whatever.

With giving, I love to give to ppl, it is good to showw ppl how much you value them as a person and that their existance is worthwhile.
Reply:Receiving, its much better to be given something than giving, because giving, gives you hope you will receive a reward, so getting something leaves you thankful someone cared

How to increase employee satisfaction?

Can you tell me some techniques of increaseing employee satisfaction? For example - job rotation/enrichment.

How to increase employee satisfaction?
Re-humanizing, is a new management concept and process focusing on changing the Human Resources paradigm.

Re-humanizing is a new concept rebuilding the role of employees and human resources. Human resource managers and employee benefits managers become customer-focused marketing managers; their customers are senior management, department heads, current employees, future employees, and retirees. Their products are traditional benefits--those that have a monetary value such as time off, retirement accounts, educational allowances, etc. and non-traditional benefits--those that focus on employee values. Employee values include recognition for contributing to the success of a project, spending more time with family and community, working in a team setting, training for personal development, training to improve job performance, being held accountable, and seeing others held accountable.

Re-humanizing harmonizes the organization's values with employee's values and creates an atmosphere where employees want to work for the success of the firm because they believe in the company and how the company treats them.

Re-humanizing was developed by Ronald H. Wohl, a Certified Management Consultant, and president of R.H.Wohl %26amp; Associates, Inc./In Plain English; Lew Priven, President of Lew Priven and Associates, Inc.; Yvonne Herndon, President of Herndon Consultants: and Lynn Keesling, CEO of the Keesling Institute. These four human resource consultants form the Capitol Human Resources Group (CHRG) in the Washington, DC area.

This concept and process based on years of helping corporations more effectively use their workforce, especially after firms undergo business process reengineering. Re-humanizing recognizes that employees are uncertain over the future of their jobs, while loyalty is among the top concerns of senior management. Employees see senior management as interested only in profits, not in the employee's long-term career in the business. Consequently, employees feel the business is not loyal to them...so why should they be loyal to the business.

Employees see their jobs being outsourced, training reduced, managers given too many people to supervise, and long-term careers with the same firm becoming a myth. At the same time, they are working very hard, with fewer resources, to make the business more efficient and profitable. But, while top management compensation rises dramatically, employees see their income rise minimally and their status with the firm eroding.

Loyalty will come when managers show they value the contributions of their employees. Often this means keeping employees informed of the progress of the firm, getting employees more involved in helping to solve the business' problems, and treating employees as colleagues, looking at their goals and values, and blending them with the goals, values, and mission of management.

Human resource and employee benefit managers must become trusted, strategic partners of the management team. To do so, they must gain the confidence of each of their customers. These managers must understand the company's business, as well as its goals and objectives. They must also understand why employees work for the business, what employees want from their work and their workplace, and what the company wants from employees.

Then, there must be a paradigm shift to non-traditional benefits to respond to these values, including the use of people-oriented problem solving. Often this process will not cost as much as recruiting new employees and outsourcing jobs.

Employees who have a history with the company hold the institutional memory. They know what worked and what didn't. Employees who interact with customers know what customers want. This is invaluable knowledge that employees can and want to bring to the problem-solving process. People-oriented problem solving can provide long term strategic solutions and short-term tactical solutions, as well.

Loyalty will be the by-product of this new relationship, in addition to short-and long-term profits. Through re-humanizing, benefit communication will become an increasingly valuable means of giving employees the information they want and need to know, not just about traditional benefits, but about the company and its appreciation of the role of its employees. By harmonizing the corporate culture with employee values and implementing non-traditional benefits, management will show that the company recognizes employee values and needs. Benefit communications will become the key internal customer relations tool for the business
Reply:Get rid of HR (human remains) make employees feel valued, get rid of management deadwood, provide decent pay and conditions. easy really !

Can you ever feel full satisfaction and happiness in life?

How powerful are you? What can you accomplish if you really try? Who will listen if you speak out? Don't be so sure you know the answers to these questions. The life now suggest that you are in the process of acquiring great strength. You should not even need to assert yourself dramatically or emphatically. A few well-chosen words in the right ear will do the trick. And if you just set off in the direction that feels most appropriate in your heart, you will magically complete the journey.

Can you ever feel full satisfaction and happiness in life?
no i havent yet but im too young to say
Reply:yes when you realize youre eternal highest self. First you have to realize that we are not this material body, IE; Race, color, nationality, Religion, mind, intellect, senses, job, etc. We are all eternal spirit souls, part and parcel of the Supreme Soul, also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc. We never die, only this mortal body dies. This material world is not our real home, it is called Maya (illusion) and is temporary and full of misery, only one fourth of the souls come here, and the rest are enjoying blissful eternal loving relationships with our Maker named above. We fell here due to envying Gods position. He made the material world for those who want to try to live separately from Him (Which is impossible because He is actually everywhere). After many lifetimes of trying to be happy in this temporary world, one becomes frustrated and board and begins to question their existence. We then seek out real happiness, and when one becomes sincere God reveals how to come back Home. Those who are intelligent, take up the process of self realization (Bhakti Yoga), which begins with the chanting of the Maha Mantra, (the great mantra for deliverance from all suffering and illusion), which gives one real peace, happiness and reality. (see my profile for a link for all info on this mantra). Then at the end of life, they can give up all material attachments and fully surrender to God and return to the eternal Kingdom, where there is no more birth, death, old age, or disease and be eternally happy. For info. Go to harekrishnatemple.com Read Bhagavad Gita- As it is by Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada I am so happy I found this ancient Universal Wisdom.
Reply:True Happiness happens whenever we are not judging anything.

Any time that you are not judging you are happy.

The moment that you start judging, you find something to be unhappy about.

It really is that simple.

There is no such scale available to measure how much happy I am. It is not possible to measure who is more happy - you or me !!

Be happy that you are happy, be satisfied with satisfaction. Who cares for full or half full !

Reply:No, full satisfaction and happiness will never be accomplished in live because live will become meaningless, ending it. I belief that in satisfaction is cornerstone of life, the necessity to improve yourself or the thing that surround you. Life for me is a journey of self awareness and self improvement and in satisfaction and unhappiness are embraced as important and fundamental motivators to accomplish something.

Do people live for personal satisfaction or money?

The old argument of money or self-happines. Is tere a real answer and what is it?

Do people live for personal satisfaction or money?
The love of money is the root of all evil.

Not money itself, but the LOVE or GREED of it.

A person cannot truly be happy in life, if their focus is on "getting" more money.

We should earn to live, not live to earn.

Reply:personal satisfaction. if your satisfied with the 5 basics need oe human which are , survival (food, clothing, shelter), love and belongingness, power, freedom and fun. once this are satisfied i believe you'll have the personal satisfaction. study shows that money and material things are not that important if we want happy life
Reply:People who live for money are hoping that it will bring them personal satisfaction.

What are examplets of tools and techniques to measure quality & customer satisfaction?

I'm writing a presentation to a group of investors for a mortgage finance company for a school project.

What are examplets of tools and techniques to measure quality %26amp; customer satisfaction?
Measure %26amp; chart things like customer complaints, mistakes by personnel, and audit for inconsistenciesbetween policies and actual procedures.
Reply:polls and questionnaires probably.
Reply:A basic example would be a survey, although customer participation is sometimes difficult to obtain.

If the company you are presenting to is willing to give you some data, may you could create charts that visually show the turnover of customers (in other words, do customers tend to stay or leave the company) or other quantitative data that will show what you want to measure.

Has anyone gotten any satisfaction from Y on the lack of search results in the members directory?

I've emailed support numerous times over the past couple of weeks and the only reply I get is that they''re working on it. No matter how little data I use for search criteria it returns blank for results and I can hear people moving around outside so I know there are still people out there. Has anyone had any luck complaining or getting this resolved ?

Has anyone gotten any satisfaction from Y on the lack of search results in the members directory?
Hi. I've been emailing Yahoo for MONTHS about this, even before the directory never search properly (truncated results). Now it doesn't work at all.

I'm trying to hope for the best... maybe after this period of NO results it will finally be fixed?

How do you think sexual satisfaction should be defined?

I am a graduate student who is trying to determine how most people define sexual satisfaction. It is completely confidential -- there is no way to trace who said what. It will take you under 2 minutes to complete. Serious submissions only, please.

How do you think sexual satisfaction should be defined?
It is an individual thing.

Do you believe that the human being is incapable of the emotion of satisfaction, of contentment?

It has been said that human beings and their desires are endless, it drives us , whips us ahead mercilessly , drives us to get, to try to get, more and more than what we have. But as soon as it is ours discontentment forces us to rise again ...What do you think about this??

Do you believe that the human being is incapable of the emotion of satisfaction, of contentment?
You are talking of Gautama Buddha's premise in the 4 Noble Truths.

Jesus said "Consider the lilies..." matthew 6.28

When you get these lessons you can put your attention on what is best for all and your desire becomes "desireless desire".

Reply:i think it depends on what it is like a cd or something material. but when its love or God or of the sort i think we are content. Once it is real and true.
Reply:I think there are plenty of cultures around the world that show this idea to be a lie. In many traditional cultures, cooperation, sustainability and modesty are treasured values and while greed may exist in some pockets, it is not exhalted as it is in our culture.

These lies of competition, ownership and domination really foul our minds and create a world where simple living is looked on as an aberation. I remember watching a part of an Oprah show on how people can do well without credit or a lot of money.

One guy featured had a modest job, single dad, and had bought a small home, an older car, and older boat. Because the luxuries were small and old the audience actually laughed at the video presentation. That was a perfect representation of the point I'm trying to make, it isn't that people inherently can't be satisfied or content, it that we as a society have been sold a bill of goods that is b.s. The societal pressure causes us to be miserable with less. This is all towards the enrichment of a select few.

the earliest account of Human dissatisfaction

is the trite story of Adam %26amp; Eve..

most people believe it's disobedience that sent them packing out of Paradise..

i contend it.. for a form of punishment shouldnt be as good as FREEDOM to roam the Earth.

maybe, as to my own analysis..

God has thought of Human's biggest Flaw...

that we will never be happy of what we have(either it's given or acquired)... our insatiability.

For God gave us Eden, a paradise... but it's never enough..

we want the tree of knowledge... we might want the Tree of Life- so we're banished....

Since God Fear what else we could do... i wonder if our dissatisfaction is bad or actually a good thing.

i do not know what drives us to want more...

maybe because we know that nothing really lasts Forever..

that the same reason we are Happy now..

could leave us alone %26amp; miserable tomorrow..

that's what the creator has that we Humans dont have..

he was contented of his work %26amp; rested on the 7th day..

We? We might just end up searching.. looking.....longing for the rest of ourlives.
Reply:Experience has demonstrated to me that human beings are capable of anything within the realm of human thought and imagination. I have found what drives most people are basic instincts. These drives are desguised in various ways in order to protect ourselves from the reality that most of us will lie, steal and cheat to get what we want. Most of us are incapaple of reason beyond bigotry. And the moral center, which most of us present to the world is obstensible at best. There are very few of us who are really willing to drink the hemlock(i.e. Socrates and his demonstation of the most fundamental rule of philosophy: whay it is we ought not to lie.) Most of our understandin and practice of faith, hope and charity are perfunctory at best. Most of us are lazy and lack the will to have any meaningful conviction to live life on it's own terms as it comes. The majority of our lives are caught up in trying to control things, which we really have no control over. We rationalize our ineptitude with philosophy, psychology and "problems of modern life". Give our own devices, most of us wouldn't last 5 minutes in a world without electricity. Although 98 % of us have no functional idea on how it works.
Reply:I am a living example of a human who is satisfied and contained with what I have. If you send me a $100.00 bill I will send it back to you.
Reply:No, the wise man is temperate and keeps his desires in control. Plato uses the image of a good charioteer with two horses one spirited and a little hard to manage, and the other steady and strong. It is the job of the wise charioteer to keeps his steeds in good order and the chariot on the track.
Reply:Contentment is possible, although even when it is achieved it has a paradoxical quality to it.

Contentment is the feeling of mastery that comes over us before a problem is mastered. On a trivial scale, consider three crossword puzzles. One is much too complicated for me, involving recondite cultural and historical allusions and a greater vocabulary than I possess. I might try it anyway, but the feeling I'll have while I'm working on it is called frustration.

The second puzzle is much too easy, too childish, and I whip through it easily, thoroughly bored.

The third puzzle, though, is in the Goldilocks condition. It is just right. Accessible given my education and vocabulary, but difficult nonetheless. While I work on this puzzle, there comes a time when I'm clearly making progress, I see completion coming near -- that is when I am content. Of course, once the spaces are all filled in I lose interest again.
Reply:yes it is possible I have met people that have no emotions and they are never satisfied about anything. I keep away from them they send negative vibes.
Reply:Contentment is intrinsically connected to comfort. Yes,

it is possible to feel satisfied, but how soon do we feel

guilty for the content. Consider the luxury of comfort

and the expense of the comfort and it isn't surprising that

guilt can take hold. In the past, I would look forward to the

finish line of my goals and when I completed those goals

I was more often than not let down by the lack of reward/

recognition. I was reinforcing myself to work lazily because

I didn't want to consider the expectations lost. My salvation

was to stop envisioning finish lines; there is no deadline.

Instead, I envision check points at smaller intervals in which

I indulge my curiosity. If anyone should offer me a reward

for which I am unaware of the source I should refuse the

reward as nonsense. The nonsense reward can only

motivate me to think that I must meet some deadline

which can only have a negative impact on the quality

of my work. Therefore, I took my contentment and motivation

into my own hands that way I can ensure that I will receive

the level of comfort which I deserve. Beware of satisfaction,

it leads to guilt and a feeling of insurmountable debt, and

beyond that what is one more debt on the road of laziness.

In my opinion, contentment alone does not drive us because

comfort for most people does not include an exertion of effort.

Therefore, the motivator of contentment must reinforce people

to look forward to being lazy, but why would someone who

wants to be lazy look forward to being lazy when they can

be lazy in the present and just pretend to be active.

In my opinion, the description to the question you provided

describes enthusiasm and not contentment; enthusiasm

is contra-content, but I wouldn't go so far as to label it

as discontent. I think sometimes enthusiasm can be

mistaken for discontent. The difference being that one

is positive and the other is negative. In my opinion, the lack of

contentment as an opportunity is enthusiasm, and the lack of

contentment as a burden is discontent.

I think enthusiasm is what drives people to enjoy

participation in activity. If I am truly satisfied with my

profession then I should be somewhat put out that

I have to leave the workplace at the end of the day.

I think discontent can only drive people so long as the

burden is present and unavoidable; as a form of negative

reinforcement.
Reply:I think it makes the desire to look around, and treasure what you have, rather than worry about the things that you don't - that much more precious.

I agree that we are given desires to drive us, to strive to do more - in part by our cultures, in part by our designer. But I also think that we are all perfectly capable of determining that we have 'enough' and focus on enjoying what we have rather than strive for more.

Besides - he who dies with the most toys, is still dead.
Reply:What you're talking about are two sicknesses of the soul, greed and gluttony. We combat these demons with spirituality.
Reply:No, if I want to feel satisfied/contented, I'l go right ahead and do just that :). Just because 'it has been said' doesn't mean you can't.
Reply:The living organism doesn't know what any of that is or means. You are told by society that these things are important. None of it helps you live and your body has no need for any of it. You as a living organism survive and procreate and need nothing else. That may not be what society sees as contentment.

How do regular consultation between managers and their subordinates impact productivity and job satisfaction?

I believe that the results are positive in most cases. Theoretically workers are likely to work better if they believe they are part of a team, that their issues are legitimate, and they are listened to, and that the managers are there to work with them. They are also less likely to be dishonest if they feel someone is looking over their shoulder. I personally believe improvement in employee morale is worth much more than the hour or two of work that might be lost.

Managers should be carefull to honor a strictly business relationship, as it's not worth it to get personally involved, if someone is trying to take advantage of your trust.

How do regular consultation between managers and their subordinates impact productivity and job satisfaction?
Obviously you don't work. Communication is the key to any successful working relationship. It is important to build trust and solid working relationships between managers and employees. Open communication between team members, departments, and throughout and organization or critcal function effectively. When communication is open, people know what is expected of them and can deliver results.
Reply:Don't consult with the "subordinates" unless they ask for your help. I work in an office where the average salary is 80K and time consulting with a manager only takes away from what the employee is trying to achieve. I can't tell you how many times I have heard co-workers say they have achieved absolutely nothing that day because they had a meeting with a manager. I think the managers mean well...but support the employee only when it is needed or they asked for it.

What satisfaction does hunting give people?

You use the word satisfaction to your own content, I would say its about passion and been at one with mother nature.

I understand what you may be trying to get at, but you have to think not everyone is ruthless killers.

Your question appears in the british hunting forem so there for you one of me fellow countryman/woman.

Over hear we hunt totaly different to the rest of the world and unlike the rest of the world we have less to hunt.

I enjoy nothing more than a days huntinig but what i try to make people understand is i have all the respect in the world for my Quarry (pray) and when hunting i try my best to show that in which ever way seems fit, whether thats giving my target a chance or just taking me fair share ect.

I have known my self be invited on to a game shoot and shoot perhaps 6 or 7 phesants then put my gun away and work my dog just to give someone who has not been as lucky a chance. At the end of the day i get as much joy out of working my dogs as i do shooting.

When stalking im just the same, i will give my pray the chance.

Ask any british hunter an they will tell you its about passion, conservation and managing the countyrside,,,,, were not hunters were just the caretakers .

Take the time out and have a look at theis site

www.basc.org.uk

What satisfaction does hunting give people?
the satisfaction that us hunters get when we go hunting is whenever u get ur game u feel that u accompished something in ur life or when u don't get anything when u go hunting then u set goals on ur self next time and u might get something. plus it fun to get out of the house and look at the secenry and have a good time. what i can't stand is ppl who stay in their house all day and watch tv, eat, and play video games and not go outside and do something. hunting gets u n takes u to different hunting places. u see different ppl u make new friends. u get the excersice on walking in the mountains and u can enjoy nature and have a relaxing afternoon. in other words hunting is a good experience for u.
Reply:It satisfies a... Hunger. Hunger for vension, hunger for fowl, hunger for pork.

Thank you for asking.

H
Reply:The satisfaction is not the killing , it's the trill of the hunt, the connection to man's primitive instincts and the wild, %26amp; it's the test of strength, agility, and cleverness of the mind and body.

It's not slaughtering them, it's merely keeping there pop level down. think of what u do every day how many bugs do u kill on purpose like ants. They may b a neusance but just think, the game animals will become a neusance if they get overpopulated. Just because theyre smarter than bugs doesnt mean we cant kill a few to keep them from overpopulating. I go hunting and i dont always kill sumthing everytime. Just like my dad says "if you shot sumthing everytime it would be called killing and not hunting,". Think of the Native Americans they didnt survive by eating fruits and berries, they hunted too.

Our bones need certain protiens to be strong and healthy, and u get a lot of those from meats, and dont think the pigs and cows just handed out meat to the processors. Hunters dont just shoot everything they see, we give the animal a fair chance, like we dont just shoot every deer we see, we shoot two tops. Ive only shot two almost every year ive hunted.
Reply:The satisfaction of seeing animals in the wild, even if you don't shoot one. If you do shoot one, it gives you the satisfaction of accomplishing what you were out to do. If you don't hunt, you don't understand.
Reply:Hunt for food. If you think its bad, how do you think it compares to factory farming?

Hunt foxes. Good. They are vermin... end of. "Cuddly little foxes" my ****. Nasty biting disease ridden pests.
Reply:I get the satisfaction of knowing the food I am eating lived a natufal lfe and is not full of growth hormone and antibiotics. and I also help the environment by keeping down pests.
Reply:Power and then again take the gun away and see who got the power.
Reply:Personally, I like to hunt because of the quiet time in the woods or field and being with friends. I enjoy harvesting animals, but don't mind going empty either. Hunting and fishing, are very relaxing times for me. They give me time to think without a phone ringing, tv on or family responsibilities.
Reply:I don't hunt anymore because I lost my passion for it. When I did hunt, I did it because it was great to be out in the woods and fields. The satisfaction was two part. One was the thrill of the hunt. The kill was actually anti climatic for me. The other because I liked the food it provided. It is no different than the satifaction you get from landing a big fish or hitting a home run. Just because people don't do it, don't knock it. If you think it is cruel how about the way cattle and pigs are killed? At least wildlife has a chance. And if anyone thinks it is as easy as just walking out to the woods and shooting something, they need to try it. It takes work and skill.
Reply:Lets See Food, Food, Food, Food, Food. If you cant eat it dont shoot it. Its human nature and animal instinct to hunt men and animals, have been doing it since we have been on this planet. If you dont understand its how we survived since the beginning of time they you wont understand. Just go to your local grocery store and I will supply the food to the store for you.
Reply:Well it is not in the kill where the satisfaction comes from. The kill is simply the ending of a quest to match yourself and your wits against that of your quarry. Many times I have hunted deer and not shot, I still enjoyed it .
Reply:It gives people the satisfaction of destroying something less aggressive but more beautiful than themselves.
Reply:A feeling of attachment to nature, to being away and apart from the dirt and pollution, crime and danger of the cities.

A feeling of skill, respect, a feeling of satisfaction at having hunted effectively, and sometimes with good results.

What gives anti-hunters satisfaction? The opportunity to name another as 'bad'? to label another as 'evil'?

To do so, to imagine that their typically inner city lives are somehow guilt free? ignoring, the extreme horrors that are around them all the time, that are immoral as well as illegal? Let who hath not sinned cast the first stone.......

How many antis would do and have done harm to others to prove a point?? to disagree with views is one thing, but to impose martial law?? or your own law? who is to say you are in the right at all? what gives you the right to consider yourself to be in the right?

Hunting never has and never will be a crime, as some species will always thrive, not just humanity.
Reply:If ur talking about these toffy nosed so in so's on their horses chasing the foxes with their hounds. I love it when the hunt wreckers mess it up 4 them.
Reply:if vermin is hunted and killed.the the satisfaction is in a job well done, i bet you havent got any lambs.chicks. or duckling .or even a great massive pheasant shooting estate .do you have a cat?well , better watch out theirs a fox about.
Reply:hunting is a sport, so the better deer or turkey or whatever they get makes them feel accomplished in the sport of hunting. AND if we didnt hunt the animal population would be soo over run that there would be a 100 times more car accidents b/c of hitting deer and they would all starve b/c there isnt enough food for them all. hunting is not wrong.... it says so in the bible... Genesis!
Reply:The excitement gets from killing , the basic evil instinct n cruelty in human kind.
Reply:I am with most of the others here, it is a skill where in my case you can purchase up to 6 deer tags at 20$ or less each and result in 300+ pounds of humanely harvested meat for my family in a way that also ensures that the wildlife does not become diseased and overpopulated and keeps our country roads safer for drivers. Hunters in my area are revered and the skillful ones are praised, I wish it was that way everywhere.
Reply:The same as you feel when your team has won.Looking at your garden after spending a day clearing up.Looking at your lounge after you have decorated, in other words SATISFACTION%26gt;
Reply:Hunting is called a sport, however for me it is simply to fill the freezer of quality game to satisfy my hunger. Moose, caribou deer, grouse, geese and hopefully this year a buffalo.
Reply:they have power and an advantage over innocent animals. that is my opinion. hunting is wrong.

How do regular consultations between managers and their subordinates impact productivity and job satisfaction?

Depends. If the managers are open to suggestions and allow changes that don't conflict with company policy or are willing to change policy to increase worker efficiency and comfort, regular meetings can be a good thing.

However, if they are dictatorial these meetings will not fly as "consultations" and will only feel like having someone breathing down the neck.

Is fulfillment the answer to satisfaction?

Thanks to all your answers. Have a great day!

Is fulfillment the answer to satisfaction?
If man is fulfilled..he is satisfied with whatever life has to offer.

Fulfillment is not only base on material things but with all aspects..physical, metal, social, psychological. But man is in constant search for the meaning of his life..thus he continually search for what would make him fulfill as a human being with a soul and purpose!
Reply:Fulfillment in what? – in true love?

True love gives both satisfaction and dissatisfaction and makes illusions far away!
Reply:No, because the more you have the more you want. That's human nature for you
Reply:Cogito is correct. Fulfillment %26amp; satisfaction are synonomous. One cannot be the "answer" to the other.

Also, in the first answer: In philosophy, one should never state an absolute. "The more you have, the more you want" may be the nature of "some" humans, but it is not human nature.

I'm sincerely beginning to wonder if this section is gravely lacking in the understanding that opinions, assumptions %26amp; subjectivity are not appropriate to philosophy.
Reply:What?!

Those are essentially synonyms in context
Reply:You are defining 'fulfillment' differently from 'satisfaction'? Like the word 'perfection', 'fulfillment' is non-existent. 'Satisfaction' is a temporary condition that requires re-fulfillment for its re-fulfillment.

The Will is positive, the Judgment is negative.

What gives you happiness and satisfaction in life?

Please be specific and say something like; money, your career, friends, having significant other, etc.

What gives you happiness and satisfaction in life?
My Hobbies and feeding my animals. Also my friends and family. I was hurt in a accident at work and now i live my life in a wheelchair. If it wasn't for my love of sports and collecting sports memorabilia and my special time in the morning where i feed the squirrels and birds in my yard from my hand. Both of those have helped to relieve the stress in my life. My friends those ones that stuck with me after the accident and realized i would never be the party guy anymore they stuck around and helped me through the tough transition i had to adjust to in my life. Plus my family for being there for me. If it wasn't for those things i think i would have killed myself. I have now learned that you must take life 1 day at a time and treasure each and every second you have alive. That is what gives me happiness and satisfaction in my life. I live every second as if it was my last and i always tell my family and friends whenever i see them or talk to them what they mean to me. I hope this answered your question. Peace

Happiness is an emotion that is mine nobody "makes me happy." Nothing "makes me happy." I always get satisfaction when OSU loses, it doesn't matter to who. Come on, this is the best rivalry in sports we're talking about. one gains satisfaction in multiple ways. being comfortable is satisfaction, being happy is as well. if one is entertained, there is a certain satisfaction there. satisfaction is a huge closet full of emotions and choices. during one's day, there will be satisfaction of some sort. eating food, watching a t.v show, talking with friends ect. the rolling stones song 'satisfaction' is a song about not getting any satisfaction, all of the lyrics that mick jagger sings is negative. so satisfaction is anything you get, feel or do that is positive. we all have a couple of minutes of that everyday..right?

By reading all the dumb questions on Yahoo...
Reply:all you have is yourself...look inside and accept yourself for who and what you are...once you have achieved that satisfaction will come by itself because everything else will cease to matter
Reply:I find satisfaction two ways....I enjoy and love being with my family. They are the most important part of my life.

The other thing I do is volunteering and donating money to families who are having problems.

Both of these things are proof that my existence is positive.
Reply:By knowing that I exist, I know that I mean something.

Reply:By trying to be the best person I can possibly be while being true to myself.
Reply:By doing.
Reply:You can always **** your pants....
Reply:By resolving all discontent.

When I am discontent, I perceive something to be lacking before I can be complete and satisfied. If the something lacking is impossible to attain or acquire, I deliberately and consciously redefine satisfaction to include all that I already have.

In other words, I want what I have.

Ductless Heat and Cooling Units. What is your satisfaction or complaints?

Currently have forced air gas heat %26amp; cool. Hate it. Have hot areas and cold areas %26amp; its noisy. For the upstairs to be cool enough to sleep the downstairs has to freeze. Plenty of insulation in house. Considering through the wall ductless units. Do they work well and are they less costly to use. Any experiences out there please?

Ductless Heat and Cooling Units. What is your satisfaction or complaints?
spend $100 with a local hvac co and have your system balanced.

thru the wall units aren't very efficient.....and if you think your furnace is noisy, then youll be very disappointed with a thru the wall unit

Possum
Reply:Mitsubishi, Fujitsu and other ductless systems all work extremely well.

Then again so do conventional systems. The problem is the design and lay-out of the system as others have stated.

Ductless systems are more expensive than conventional but if done right, they are truly impressive.

I would not waste my time and have the system professionally balanced as this is something you are more than capable of doing.

You already know where the hot/ cold and drafty spots are located.

If the heater is newer, you may have a few options there as well. Typically you can set the blower off delay....(time the blower runs after flame is out) from 60 to 240 seconds. You may also want to check for a multi-speed blower motor. Typically heat is run on low, A/C, but you may have medium or medium low and medium high.
Reply:Ductless units work well, but ONLY in the room they are in. Window A/C's have both heat and cooling and are cheaper then the mini-units. If you have enough room in the attic you might consider installing a system in the attic and ducting to ceiling diffusers. Since you haven't mentioned how many areas are involved I couldn't begin to estimate costs. Probably the window units are cheapest - but then you have to deal with the noise. Balancing normally doesn't work well because residential ductwork is not normally designed well nor is it properly-sized. It's sad to say but most two-story homes have the same problem as yours. The builders want the cheapest system installed so that they can maximize their profits and the homebuyer has to live with the results. Good luck to you.
Reply:your house in not in balance for heating and cooling. you need to have the house properly set up by bringing more air flow to the house. you might be getting too much air flow in the house to the basement and not enought to the upstairs in the summer time. if you go to electic heaters or a boiler and water heat will be quieter look into the costs before you do anything and ask lots of questions to the salesmen. remember you don't have to buy even when they have sat and answered questions for 5 hours

Why is Chase bank the WORST in customer satisfaction and why don't they change that?

I went into Chase today to cash a check written off of a Chase account after I had verified that the money was in the account. They asked me to step away while they counted the money. THEN, they came back with the check and said they wouldn't cash it even though the money was in the account (and available).......that I should come back tomorrow. WHAT? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? He gave me his card and said to have the accountholder call him and now that guy won't even answer. The accountholder's mom is the branch manager of another Chase and she said, "some branch managers make people wait a day because they are gay". Why do they do this and how in the heck do they expect to get our business when they lie straight to our face and treat people this way?

Why is Chase bank the WORST in customer satisfaction and why don't they change that?
Why should they change anything if they can afford not to? Because people continue to feed them, so what good would it be for them to make you happy?

Your job is to make them lose business if they don't make you happy, and give it to somebody who deserves it.
Reply:I hate this stupid idiot bank.I deposit a check, the said i am going to have it available in 7 days, omg, and then they frozenthe account for 10 days.WTF is wrong, and i am supposed ti give this money to a real estate as soon as possible.I may loose my job because of them Report Abuse

Reply:Many of the big banks have horrible customer service because they are only trying to make a buck.

Just politely (remeber if you lose your cool, it's all over) ask why it can't be cashed. If you don't get a valid reason (like the check isn't good) politely ask for the names of those involved. Then ask for a corporate telephone number or address. If you don't get this don't sweat, but you can easily find it online. Then send a letter to the corporate offices and the Better Business Bureau explaining the situation.

Dental Assistants:What kind of salry do you make and is there job satisfaction?Possibility of advancement?

Dental assistants don't usually make 50k but dental hygienists may make that much :) DH's clean and scale the teeth and need to take a lot more coursework in chemistry and anatomy of the head and neck among the technical courses. For general info: http://www.bls.gov/oco and can search 'dental assistants', 'dental hygienists' or such.

Dental Assistants:What kind of salry do you make and is there job satisfaction?Possibility of advancement?
I think I read somewhere recently that they make an average of around 50K. But what would they advance to? You can't take over as a dentist just by working there for an extended period of time... so it looks like you'd be stuck there.
Reply:I have been a dental assistant for 11 years in North Carolina. I make about 42K a year and work 32-38 hours a week. Pay can vary depending on the office and location. But no, there is really no room for advancement in position, only pay raises

Why in teaching profession growth and satisfaction is not there?

Firstly, teaching should be by choice not by chance. The teacher should always innovate and experiment wth the vast technology platforms available. This holds the pupils wavering interests.

Devoid of this, one is open to exploitation ,which in turn, leads to disatisfaction and stagnation.

Add to this a pinch of in-school politics by hovering around the decision makers, show off your innovations etc. and you can have the cake and eat it too!!!

NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE !! !!

Why in teaching profession growth and satisfaction is not there?
you join any profession... you will feel same everywhere...
Reply:With the advent of BPO industry, suddenly there is an upsurge in the salaries. Teaching profession has always been a slow growing profession. Today's generation aspires for higher salaries, but this profession doesnt give you all that.

You can get great respect but this profession doesnt give you the monetary dreams that one aspires. as far as the job satisfaction is concerned, it depends on the person taking up the job. if you want money, then it can never satisfy you. but if you want 9 to 5 job, enjoy all holidays along with respect, this is the right choice.
Reply:That part has to come from "within". There are many opportunities for "professional growth", but, you must avail yourself of them. Bad part is you have to separate the "wheat from the chaff" and find those that appeal to you. ONe thing I will say, when the "fire" goes out in a teacher, it is almost IMPOSSIBLE to rekindle.

A first year teacher is full of fire and energy. That may last for 2 to 3 years or even longer. It is when the "grind" gets to them that the fire starts to fade. Lessons are just lessons. Teaching is just regurgigation of words. The one thing that did at my kids elementary was move the teachers around. Never stale for sure. One teacher might be teaching 2nd grade one year and the 5th next. They also had Looping which is where a child has the same teacher for 2 years. Looping is also a way to keep the teaching and the teacher fresh. It is not HOW you do it, it is THAT you do it. YOu either WANT to be the best or you TALK about being the best.
Reply:Gone are the days where in to work as a teacher was looked at with utmost regard. Today it is mostly listed last in the aspiration of youngsters. As a matter of fact it has now become an anachronism to aspire for the job of a teacher when the thrill lies in dot coms. The simple reason for such a esteemed job to lose it’s flare is that it is no more financially attractive in India. India witnessed a significant advance in the living standards of it’s people from early 1990’s. Unfortunately this growth compared against the salary drawn by teachers is ill proportioned. So in the materialistic world how can a youngster ever dream to become a teacher and perform paramount work for peanuts.Decent compensation are prevalent in educational institutions run by the government but not otherwise. Freshers from college work for the meager compensation of Rs.500 onwards for the sake of experience and better job prospects. The most sour aspect of this profession is that the salary is not bound to increase with experience as they shift from one school to another. No matter of what their experience is, they need to begin their job in the new school with the basic salary assumed by the school. With these unpleasant aspects it is certainly not phenomenal for teachers to fetch an employment in the schools and colleges abroad. Yes, there has been a steering rise in the number of India School teachers going to abroad to teach. Whether you call it fortunate or unfortunate, the potency of the Indian teachers is well realized by the educational institutions abroad. Indian teachers draw salaries at par with the US counterpart with the potential to increase their salaries as they become more experienced. No wonder, the number of Indian teachers going abroad in increasing- a trend that is certain to have positive and negative impact.Such migration will cause a subtle drop of good teachers and quiet obviously on the educational standards of India. The westward flight of Indian teachers has positive impact too. While most people tend to deplore the ‘teachers drain’ phenomenon, Maya Menon, director of Bangalore-based The Teachers Foundation discerns a silver lining. “It is not necessarily deplorable. In India teaching is perceived as a stagnant profession with slow upward mobility and modest financial rewards. If new opportunities to work abroad with decent pay have arisen it will motivate more young people to enter this increasingly shunned profession,” says Menon.Whatever be the positive aspect of this migration be, it is not too late for the Indian government to focus on policies that would make this profession financially attractive in India.

What do you think are the main determinants of someones happiness or satisfaction with life?

I believe that it all comes down to one's attitude and one's decision to either be happy or not to be happy. Since no other person can provide happiness for us, then we accept that we are captain of our own ship. One has to have realistic expectations to begin with and has to participate in life. I think that your satisfaction is in proportion to your efforts.

What in the world is the difference between loving a person, and being selfishly attached to them? Love is the sincere wish, for others to be happy and to be free from suffering. Having realistically realized other’s kindness, as well as their faults, Love is Always focused on the other person’s welfare. We have no ulterior intensions or motives to fulfill our own self-interests; or to fulfill our own desires, we love others, all people, simply because they exist. Attachment, on the other hand, exaggerates others’ good qualities, and makes us crave to be with them. When we’re with them, we are happy, but when we’re separated from them, we’re miserable. Attachments are always linked with expectations of what others should be, or what they should do for us. Is love, as it is understood in most societies, really love OR attachment ? Let us examine this a little more. Generally speaking, we are attracted {drawn to) people because they have qualities we value, or because they help us in some way. If we carefully observe, through introspection, our own thought processes we’ll notice that we very often look for specific qualities in others. Some of these qualities we are drawn to are qualities within our parents, or qualities which society values.

We examine someone’s looks, education, social status, financial status, and so forth. This is how Most of us decide on whether or not the person holds any true value, or not. In addition, we judge people as worthwhile according to how they relate to us. If they praise us, encourage us, help us, if they listen to what we have to say, if they make us feel secure, if they take care of us when were sick, unhappy or depressed, we consider them good, or sometimes righteous people, and these are the people we more drawn to, whom we are most likely attracted to, and the people we choose to be around with.

In all honesty, this is very biased, for we are judging them, only in terms of how they relate to us, as if we are the most important person in the world %26amp; thinking the world revolves around us! After we’ve judged certain people to be good for us, whenever we see them, it appears to us as if goodness is radiating out from within them, but as we are more mindfully aware, we realize that we have projected this goodness on to them.

Desiring to be the people who make us feel good, we become emotional yo-yo’s, when we’re with these people, we’re up, but when we’re not with them, we’re down. Furthermore, we form fixed concepts of what our relationships with these people will be, and thus have expectations of them. “When they do not live up to our expectations of them, we’re unhappy, disappointed or may even become angry. We want them to change so that they will match what we think they are. But our projections and expectations come from our own minds, not from other people. Our problems arise not because others aren’t who we thought they were, but because we mistakenly thought they were something they were not. We often use a type of Checklist also. Checklist: “I Love You IF ___________ !” This Love is Conditional and what we call love, is most often attachment. It is actually an attitude which overestimates the qualities of another person.

’Then we cling tightly to that person, thinking our peace and happiness depends on that person. We even often blame that person for our unhappiness.’ Love, on the other hand, is a very patient, calm, optimistic and relaxed attitude. We want others to be free from suffering and to be happy simply because they exist. While attachments are uncontrolled, and too emotionally sentimental, Love is Patient, powerful, and controlled(disciplined). Attachment obscures our judgment {our ability to make sound, wise decisions), and we become impatient, angry, and impartial – helping our dear ones, and those who do us no harm. Love clarifies our mind, %26amp; we access a situation by thinking of the greatest good for everyone. Attachment is based on selfishness, while love is founded on valuing, %26amp; cherishing others, even those who do not look very appealing to us. Love always looks beyond all the superficial appearances and dwells on the fact that they are just like us: they want peace of mind, happiness, and wish to avoid suffering. If we see an unattractive, or unintelligent people we most often feel repulsed, because our selfish minds want to find attractive, intelligent, and talented people. On the other hand, Love never evaluates others by theses superficial standards and looks much deeper into the person. Love recognizes that regardless of the others appearances, they’re experiences are they same as ours: they want inner mental peace, happiness, and wish to be from suffering. When we’re attached, we’re not mentally, emotionally, %26amp; spiritually free. For we overly depend on, and cling to another person, to fulfill our emotional, mental, and spiritual needs. We fear losing the person, fearing that we’d be incomplete without them.” This does Not mean that we should suppress all our emotional needs, or become aloof, and totally independent, for that too would not solve the problem. We must simply realize our unrealistic needs and slowly, gently and patiently – seek to eliminate them. If we try to suppress them, pretending they do not exist, we become insecure, anxious, or possibly depressed. In this case, we do our best to fulfill our needs, while simultaneously working gradually to subdue them. The core problem is that most of us seek to be loved, rather than to love. We yearn to be understood by others, rather than to understand them. Our sense of emotional insecurities comes from the selfish obscuring of our own minds. We develop confidence by recognizing our inner potential to become a Selfless human being, having many magnificent qualities, and then we’ll develop and have an accurate perception of ourselves, gaining self-confidence. We’ll seek to increase true unconditional love, to increase compassion, to cultivate patience, as well as generosity, right concentration and wisdom. Under the influence of attachment, we’re bound by our unstable emotional reactions to others. When they’re nice to us, we’re happy, but when they ignore us or speak sharply to us, we take it personally, and are unhappy. But pacifying attachment doesn’t mean we become hard-hearted, rather without attachments, there will be space in our hearts and minds for genuine affection and impartial love for them. And as a result, we’ll be more actively involved with them. As we learn to transform our minds %26amp; lives, through subduing our attachments, we can definitely have successful friendships, and personal relationships with others. These relationships will be richer, more meaningful because of the freedom and respect the relationships are based on. We’ll really care about the happiness and misery of all human beings equally, simply because everyone is the same inside: we all want inner peace of mind, Happiness, and to be from suffering.

However, of course, our lifestyles and interests may be a bit more compatible with some people. Our friendships and our personal relationships will be based on mutual interests, and to help other people. Having such an attitude, we’ll be much More Patient, %26amp; tolerant toward others; will remain mentally calm, having Peace of Mind and Happiness, and we’ll communicate successfully with others in life.

Reply:I would have to say your outlook on life helps determine how you feel about your life, most of the time. I am optimistic and I have a friend that is very pessimistic. At the moment our lives are very similar (both in debt and struggling, and both dissatisfied with our jobs, both in new relationships). She often tells me she wishes her life was like mine, because I a happier then her, The difference between us is only that I focus on the new relationship and try to change the bad. I am in the processes of changing jobs, where I might be happier and I will make more money. She will not follow suit, because she is afraid she will not like the new job, so she choose to stay unhappy by not taking the chance. By the way I am only changing jobs within my company, so I can easily go back to were I came from if I am not happy. In the short my optimism is allowing me to try something new, while her pessimism is holding her back.

Also years ago I read that they have done a study on pessimist, where they had some volunteers look at the brighter side of their situation and others be pessimist. They found that those that used optimism were generally more happy with life.
