What can you do to get better customer satisfaction as a customer?

.) Be nice.

.) Be easy to do business with.

.) Do business with organizations that score well with J.D. Power and Associates.

.) Do business with organizations that score well with the Better Business Bureau.

.) Do business with organizations that are recommended by their local chamber of commerce.

.) Pay on time (business have nasty terms for customer that don't like "account spending limit" or "responsibility challenged" that they use to identify customers that they will treat with more of a Wal*Mart than Ritz Carlton approach.)

.) Do your homework. Research companies and just use them for what they are good at.

.) Deal with the highest paid employee you can. It never fails, businesses take their most valuable asset (their customer) and place it with their lowest paid employee (customer service). Yahoo or Google words like "executive services" "BBB" or "account executive" to find the real employee of a company you should be talking to.

.) Let the company know how much money you spend with them, and how much you intend to spend with them.

.) Luck - I know it sounds silly, but I always get good service no matter whether it is at a restaurant or call center - I just luck out.

Become more demanding when it comes to a service and more critical when it comes to a product. With a product, ask why they are asking you to buy an extended warranty. Tell them, apparently you are selling me an inferior product as you want me to buy insurance on it!!!
