What's the difference between satisfaction and contentment?

can someone be satisfied but not contented when it comes to material things, love , happiness pleasure, life?

What's the difference between satisfaction and contentment?
One can definitely by satisfied by all the items mentioned above and still be restless for more.

Satisfaction derives from the past. It is the result of bargaining to reach an acceptable point of closure in the dealing.

Contentment applies to the present. A pause to acknowledge that at this time one is happy to be in the place they are.

You can be stopped at a red light satisfied that you managed to beat another driver to a certain position at the light. But not be contented because you fell out of sync with the green lights ahead and will be forced to stop at every intersection for the next three blocks.

Or you could be unsatisfied that you became stuck behind a truck at that same light. Yet be content to watch a bird outside your door wandering the median in search for food.
Reply:Actually they mean the same thing, pretty much.
Reply:Satisfaction is an emotion or feeling that you get from completing a task.

Contentment is a general feeling of well being generated by your environment.
Reply:satisfaction is getting what you want and contentment is being happy with what you already have
Reply:it is easy to become content but total satisfaction is harder to achieve and vice versa. you can be satisfied but not content with what you have but feel compromise is necessary .
Reply:Satisfaction applies when you are expecting something and if it occurs, you are satisfied.

Contentment can happen when something great happens, unexpected or expected.
