Which career is better in terms of money, availability, and personal satisfaction?

Film or Marine Biology? I know they're different but they both also have a lot of people trying to get in the field, making it competitive. In the long run, which one do you think will be more worth the time and effort spent in college? Thanks!

personally, I think that marine biology will take you further than the other one.
Reply:Job growth for marine biologists: "Biological scientists can expect to face competition for jobs. After a recent period of rapid expansion in research funding, moderate growth in research grants should drive average employment growth over the next decade.

Employment change. Employment of biological scientists is projected to grow 9 percent over the 2006-16 decade, about as fast as the average for all occupations, as biotechnological research and development continues to drive job growth"

So...that's so-so. Competitive. Film is...even more competitive, I think, because a lot of it is freelance. And what would you do with it, exactly? Producer, director? Either way, the movie business (or television business) is incredibly hard to break in to, and so much of it depends on connections, not talent.

I think you would have more luck with marine biology. But if that's not where your heart is, then go with film, and you'll make it work.
