Do you receive greater satisfaction from giving or receiving?

I'm not talking about sex, please keep it G rated!

Do you receive greater satisfaction from giving or receiving?
I like giving. I always wanted to be a philanthropist but I can't really afford it.
Reply:It is better to give than to receive.
Reply:Both giving and receiving are pleasant. It is an expression of love, affection, concern.
Reply:Giving!!
Reply:giving, receiving tends to make me uncomfortable in certain situations and giving makes me feel good for days
Reply:Depends on the who I'm giving or receiving from . . .

My children - nothing makes me happier than giving them things.

But let's be honest here - it's great to get a really great gift.
Reply:giving --makes me smile more then recieving

Reply:By nature I am a giver. I give my heart, my soul and my energy into everything I have a passion for. It gives me a great sense of satisifaction knowing that I can provide happiness for someone just by "giving" myself. To me it is one of the most simple ways to show you care!

On the other hand, I do enjoy receiving. Not so much material presents, for they are just a 'token' of someone's appreciation. I am talking about receiving someone's love, understanding, compassion, 'words of wisdom', trust, friendship, 'ear to lend'...etc, etc, etc. When I am the receiver of these "gifts", well I just feel over the moon! It makes me satisfied just to know that others truly do care.
Reply:To be quite honest I think the satisfaction is equal, I love recieving gifts (Who doesn't) It is good to know that someone is showing their appreciation of you. Mind you recieving is not just gifts, it could be love, thanks or whatever.

With giving, I love to give to ppl, it is good to showw ppl how much you value them as a person and that their existance is worthwhile.
Reply:Receiving, its much better to be given something than giving, because giving, gives you hope you will receive a reward, so getting something leaves you thankful someone cared
Reply:Giving. I often feel guilty when I receive because I know there are people out there that need more than I.
Reply:i'm a giver - love the look of joy on a person's face just after i've farted in it....
Reply:Its always nice to receive somthing, but i am a giver
Reply:The upper hand (that gives) is better than the lower hand (that receives).
Reply:Giving, especially if the get excited about it.
Reply:Giving. But I also like recieving too because it allows for someone else to feel that say way I feel when I give.
Reply:oooh good question....Id surprisingly have to say giving becuase that good feeling stays with me for a while, especially if I surprise someone with something, the good feeling starts in the planning stages, all the way up until I actually give them the whatever. But when I recieve its a good feeling momentarily but fades.
Reply:It is a reciprocated matter, who does not like to receive!
Reply:giving
Reply:Giving is much better than receiving. Try it for yourself.
Reply:I atmit I like to recive, but there's no greater satisfaction in getting the perfect present for someone...
Reply:Both! I love the satisfaction from choosing a gift I know someone will love... But I also like the idea that somone went to the effort to do the same for me :D

But i do think that only applies to friends though... :D

Reply:Giving as it is nice to see a friend happy. I do not mind receiving as long as the item has very low value. I could not accept an expensive gift
Reply:Giving, because it makes you feel good as long as you do it with kindness and do not spend what you can't afford.
Reply:As a society we have been taught the greatest satisfaction comes from giving. Personally, I believe it does. At the same time, I think it's important to learn how to be a gracious receiver.
Reply:Giving makes me fell like i can do something for the needy people of the world as well as making friends and family smile.
Reply:Giving, giving, and more giving! I absolutely love to spoil people I love.
Reply:giving , especially when you see a happy face from them.
Reply:I had rather give to make someone happy
Reply:Giving, because you know you are helping someone improving their situation.
