Which of the two glucometer system is better in terms of custom satisfaction?

Which of the two glucometer system is better in terms of custom satisfaction, OneTouch Horizon and Accu-chek Advantage?

Note: im planning to use it for my 60 yr old grandma.

Which of the two glucometer system is better in terms of custom satisfaction?
My insurance company supports most meters, so I have tried a bunch. My pump has a built in Freestyle meter, which I find indispensable. However the new One Touch Ultra Mini seems like a pretty good deal, and the meter is around 20 bucks. For me its about the size of the meter, because I don't want to be lugging a brick around in my pocket.
Reply:If the OneTouch Horizon is anything like the mini (I believe it uses the same strips), then I vote for the other. We have been having to waste a lot of strips because if the strip doesn't get enough blood immediately, it starts anyway and then says Er5 (error 5 - not enough blood). My son's other meter (Freestyle Flash) won't start the countdown until it gets enough blood so you don't have that problem. You can just milk the finger for additional blood and add it to the blood already in the strip.

They say that it only takes a tiny bit of blood, and I do like the way it really sucks it up and you can see it go in, but I think it needs more blood than the Freestyle or the Accu-check (which we have used for ketone testing only).
Reply:I have both the One Touch Mini and the Ultra. They are always within 1 point of the lab which I consider a huge plus. I also have an AccuChek but it is so far off the lab as to be nearly on the moon. It is 26 points high always.

Taking insulin can cause Hypos and at that time I cannot do the math! My brain gets too fuzzy to even figure out how much coke to drink. let alone do the math needed to see what my glucose reading actually is.

The best one is the one the insurance company supports!! Free or nearly free test strips is the ruler here. The One Touch strips are in the neighborhood of $1 each if no insurance coverage. That gets really expensive if you are required to test frequently during the day.
Reply:hi you

i use the accu-chek advantage and will use nothing else i have tryed the one touch horizon when it came on the market and i just did not like and got the advantage when i went back to accu-chek and there compact plus is very good to
