What is more important customer satisfaction or needs of the business?

I have an interview today and its a role play, im trying to decide what to prioritize in the interview. the customer getting what they want (a full refund despite it being one day past the deadline for that) or the business' T%26amp;C being stuck to? please help :)

What is more important customer satisfaction or needs of the business?
Simple - without customers there is no business.

Treat your customers fairly. Word will get around and the business will prosper.
Reply:If we're talking about consumer goods, then considering the "severity" of the violation of the T%26amp;Cs, customer satisfaction should win out.

In short, make the customer feel like they're getting preferred treatment. You can tell them about the T%26amp;Cs and how they are normally not violated, etc etc, but just for them, in this one off, you're willing to allow the refund.

It re-affirms the company's T%26amp;Cs, ensures the customer feels special and they will probably spread the word about the customer service they received.
Reply:always keep your customer happy even if they are a day over the deadline for a refund. Chances are they will recommend you and that will bring more business in time. Get a bad name and that could hurt your business especially today with the internet as it is.
Reply:All businesses need customers, therefore, they know it's important to give customer satisfaction.
Reply:U can execute both!!!
Reply:Tell them if they want business it is called lower prices! Look at walmart they pay their employees crap and look at how cheap the prices are! Hell anytime you go to a walmart its packed. Why? Sure isn't customer service. It is low prices! Otherwise yeah kiss their *** and let them scream at you to ease their peace of mind in their shallow empty life. "there are two kinds of angry people - explosive and implosive. Explosive is the type of individual you see screaming at the cashier for not taking his coupon. Implosive is the cashier who remains quiet day after day and then finally shoots everyone in the store." - Anger Managment
